SUPERB KNITTERS: Cardiknits is host to the Superb Knitters, a group of about 20 enthusiastic machine knitters who meet monthly to share their interest in machine knitting. This group is extremely generous in sharing their knitting skills with local charities. Our knitters work tirelessly year round to produce dozens of pairs of mittens, hats, scarves and countless blankets to benefit humans and animals alike. They fill countless boxes all year and month after month show & tell is awesome. We are so grateful to them and we are sure that the recipients of their wonderful knitting are as well. So far in 2009 we have taken 156 cat blankets, a few dog blankets and cat toys to the SPCA. $400 was raised as a result of the knitting machine parts sale and this has purchased 60 pillows,which were needed badly at the Dialysis centre in Stoney Creek. We are collecting hats, mitts, scarves, socks, and amputee socks for the St Josephs dialysis patients' Christmas gift bags and for Neighbour to Neighbour.
