We have many beginning machine knitters requesting classes at the moment so Cardiknits will be offering more demonstrations and hands-on workshops this year. We try to select topics that our customers want to have covered so if you have any suggestions please let Pat know. If you would like personal instruction during the year, please contact Pat to see what can be arranged. Beginners' Ribber Workshop - Eileen Montgomery Level: Beginner #3 - Saturday, March 10th & Sunday, March 11th - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Fee: $90.00 for the two-day workshop (you must register for two days) Hands-on knitting. This workshop was held twice last fall and is being offered again by popular request. Over the weekend we will set up your main bed with ribber and check it over to be sure everything is working well. Then we will knit a number of hats using the ribber to learn a variety of ribs and how to transfer between types. We will use double-bed patterning and learn different crown techniques. We will email a list of all the things that you will have to bring including your main bed, ribber, clamps, punchcards, tools, combs, weights, manuals, as well as 2 cones of 4-ply acrylic. Handouts and patterns will be given out. Don't forget your lunch. Beginners' Single-Bed Colour Changer Workshop - Eileen Montgomery Level: Beginner #1 - Saturday, March 17th - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm #2 - Saturday, March 24th - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Fee: $45.00 This is a one-day hands-on class using the main bed with your colour changer to knit a variety of stripes, shadow pleats, fair isle, multi-coloured tuck and slip patterns. We will email a list of all the items you will need to bring including your main bed, colour changer, manuals, punchcards, clamps, tools and variety of yarns. Handouts will be given out. Don't forget your lunch. Please try to register early to secure a place. Space is limited to ensure your enjoyment and for maximum benefit. Please understand that admission must be by advance registration.
